Blackpool extend their unbeaten run by ending Derby’s

Blackpool 3 Derby 2

After Derby extended their unbeaten run to seven games by beating Plymouth at the weekend, the team travelled up to Blackpool hoping to keep the ball rolling with their successful run.

The home side fought hard in the first half, securing two goals thanks to Alan Gow slotting one past Stephen Bywater and Gary Taylor-Fletcher volleying in a cross from Keith Southern.

After the break, Derby took the iniative when Kris Commons scored a beautiful free-kick.

But the comeback was soon shortlived when Blackpool’s Ben Burgess scuffled in another Southern pass.

Mile Sterjovski managed to restore some pride for Derby with a late consolation goal but it just wasn’t to be Derby’s night – Blackpool secured all three points and ended Derby’s seven game unbeaten run.

Onwards to Midlands rivals Coventry for Saturday’s game…
